The Envy @ Wired Oct 09
The Envy graced the stage first and foremost to open with Blur, and did their job to get the crowd pumped. A pleased audience raised lighters to The Envy’s rendition of Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars, making it their own with a punky vibe. Lady, bled quirky melodies and subtle singing before jumping into King’s of Leon’s Use somebody, another crowd pleaser. The Winchcombe trio managed to pack 12 numbers into a 40minute set, more than any other band on the night. They covered Stereophonic’s Have a nice day which got the floor shaking, while I’ll Meet you There, flaunted front-man Dalton’s voice to every advantage, on top of some top-notch drumming which really smashed through.
